Operating systems for web hosting
One of the most
important issues when it comes to web
hosting is the type of operating
system you need for an easy access, updating, data base, and how does it
connects everything with the rest of the world, among other features. Operating systems are what make
possible sharing the information of your website,
without them web hosting pages would
only be a gathering of images, and data.
Different operating systems
There are some operating systems created by different
companies:
Microsoft Windows: This operating
system was specifically created to work with PCs.
MacOS: it was created for Apple, and is very easy to install
on Mac and iOS devices.
Linux: This was an operating
system created for machines oriented to technical organization purchasing.
Chrome OS: mostly is all about what is found in the Chromebooks
market.
From all these
types of operating systems the ones
more used are Windows and Linux,
because they are very easy to operate and their costs are lower.
Linux Servers
Linux is an operating system that can be divided
into two types of plans in web hosting
; shared plans, these are very basic
and the user will not be able to know most of the features, but just knowing
that the server is Linux; VPS Plans and
Dedicated Servers, this is a more specific and advanced plan when it comes
to the user, because you can have access to basic features that can benefit
your web site managing like: knowing what kind of Linux servers you are using, ins and outs of Linux and other
technologies.
Windows Operating system
There are a lot
of applications made from Microsoft that are used by web hosting, and this is the main reason why sometimes this operating system is so popular and so
demanded, but it is more expensive because of licensed costs, therefore, most
people prefer Linux, because it has
a cheaper version and if some web hosting services choose Windows, it is because they need to do so.
